This is well known brand that fell,heavily, by the wayside under some dubious and lazy management and will take a great captain to steer the ship back on course.I have saw the exact same thing happen before with Elders and whilst about to go under, i took my largest punt ever because really you could not have called it a wise investment decision back then.I just could not imagine how it could be let fold.A new main man took over and the rest is history.This was one of my main drivers for an early retirement another being a very good payday from BHP's takeover of OZ minerals,another that flirted with its demise when bought out by Minmetals due to the global finance crisis.Not sure if AMP will ever be huge again as the finance sector has changed so much since their heyday but a solid company with a couple of dividends a year will be suffice for me.But enough about me, pray tell why have you such hatred towards AMP,lost money on their shares,a planner kicked off the gravy train,oh do tell.
