Hopefully you explained to him how it would be different from the Special Dividend they declared in 2020
Like I mentioned on this thread a couple times, that I had placed a copy of my 2006 Capital Return distribution slip on this thread .
The slip has an explanation on how to treat this distribution and its tax consequences.
The majority of AMP holders would get a tax fee payment, conditional on them reducing the cost base on the purchase price of the shares.
The difference between DIVIDENDS Is that the distribution is it is based on COST BASE not the income from a dividend.
I’m sure if u make an effort to look at the example that I provided, u will understand the differences;
even a grammatical incompetent person like me can understand it.
An extra payment on top of the dividends would be greatly appreciated for struggling families.
Some recent shareholders who recently purchased AMP may have to pay capital gains tax….doubt it very much!
I suggested to Scott to search for 2006/7 capital payments to get a better understanding.
