Approx. 20 years ago I took a bottle of Penfolds Magill Estate to Jacques Reymond (Melbourne) for a special dinner.
Charged me $50.
I honestly think this was very, very fair. The glassware, (including decanter), and service ...And the food was wonderful.
I forget what The Lakehouse at Daylesford may have charge for corkage on a 1992 Grange - but this proves again how fair they were. When the service and the glassware are at the higher end, I certainly believe the concept is fair.
