Firstly, i didn't mean to say that AAM have been telling porkies, merely that they need to say more.
I can't confirm on the costs for the upgrade in throughput. If you're premise is right that the front end and pumping is sufficient then the increase in throughput by adding another tank could be right. That cost sounds about right too.
this seems to back that up too (from the quarterly):
"Separate areas of the plant are showing up to 1000 tonnes per day can be achieved (incl crushing)"
