Having traded on a lot of markets around the world, I can say without any doubt in my own mind that the ASX is the dirtiest, most crooked market in the Western world

The amount of manipulation and dishonesty that goes on beggars belief and it is so rife and widespread that ASX and ASIC could never control it

Having said that, you are quite right about those organisations being gutless and spineless.

Australia is a country which creates jobs by creating multiple levels and layers of useless, inefficient beurocracy(Fancy having six or eight state governments for a country with 20 million people) and ASIC is no exception

On the other hand, the ASX is a listed company and makes money with every trade so they have every interest in seeing as much trade as possible, even where it leads to manipulation and massive volatility
