Imo you need to look at your rule book every so often

My current rule is to continue to buy stocks that I continue to believe in.
And if they fall 20 % ----I ask myself do I still believe ?

If I still believe , then I buy additional
If I don't believe enough to continue buying, then I have stopped believing , and should sell out completely

There are buying opportunities from time to time---for example, when a big holder has decided to sell
