The potential law pertains to taking land off white farmers without compensation.
Theoretically it is the same law that Zimbabwe enacted, but you can see the reactions that will start appearing from other countries (Dutton was a good example of prudent diplomatic wrangling) will most likely calm the situation.
Basically it sounds like South Africa is going to become more and more stringent around black ownership. UNV’s newest deals are all in a company that is 51%bee 49% UNV, with UNV having operational control and being paid a management premium to run the company. So if anything what we will see is continued exodus of the sector by non bee compliant multi nationals and UNV should continue picking up mining rights and mines for prices that are extremely fair.
Also SA need something like 20% more coal in 5years and there are no majors producing any coal now, so the entirety of SA is reliant on the UNVs of the world to keep the lights on.
