As a mechanic I can say they engineer most car parts to last as long as the warranty, so generally 2-4 years but most manufactures are doing the 7 year 100,000km warranty for powertrain parts.
For a 500km+ range 500 cycles should be enough to put the burden back on to the consumer.
For insight it would be good to look at the warranty offerings for EV car manufactures, Kia apparently are going for a 7 year 150,000km on high voltage electrical components which is a huge surprise to be honest as this could be a huge cost for the company.
Tesla with 8 years or 240,000 km on the battery is just insane.
