Don't get all sensitive on us Dargie. In future, do some research before posting a fairly inflammatory post (unsubstantiated by any factual content) about the value of CVN. You'll find the long term holders will react better to well constructed argument.
More than happy to hear contrary posts, I just took exception to how you initially presented your opinion. Nevertheless, happy to help with some constructive analysis.
On NPV, another source is Fat Prophets. The info I found is a bit dated now (13/2/08), but they stated CVN valuation of 77 cents per share based on in-ground reserves of 13 million barrels at a conservative in-ground NPV of US $35/barrel.
Can't provided any insightful commentary on PPP (haven't held), but as a past holder of AED I can say they are completely different beasts. CVN are merely firming up a pretty straightforward (if unconventional) field, whereas AED's field has always been tricky and problematic.
