What is the "second technology" license?, page-223

I know, quick change from end of 2017 to mid 2018 in the space of a month or so. Still think some products are already prepared or thereabouts refer my ponder below

Here is something to ponder.
If every product has a life cycle and i would imagine the wand has about 3 years before it is down to a hand full of sales. How do you supersede it?

Make it the next generation under the second stage and roll out again???? is this what we will see, ready for a late 2018 launch. wave 2 etc to follow the same path......
