I personally knew many small time criminals 15 years ago(i can't remember names or specific circumstances :)

The majority at the time were yet to have a police record.

When I say small time I mean break & enter into cars & houses(small time unless you are personally affected).

The story by these perps at the time was "if I get caught it's a 1st offence".

"12 month Bond Maximum".

The majority of these people did get caught committing a criminal act.

What punishment did they get???

12 month bonds mostly :)

The vast majority of these people after getting caught did not partake in criminal activities ever again.

They found girlfriends, got married , had children & took a different perspective on Life in general.

They knew the punishment before hand & weighed up the options.

Steal 20 cars get caught for one(1st offence), 12 months bond.

Criminals know how the system works.

Bleeding hearts have no idea about reality.

Criminals use bleeding hearts to their own advantage.

Give criminals Community service.

Criminals love such punishment.

It proves to the criminal they never really did anything wrong in the 1st place.

Anybody here know somebody personally who has done community service????

I know many.

Criminals think it is a joke.

LOL, i'm laughing too :) Punishment??? yeah, yeah, what ever you reckon.

It depends on what type of society you want to live in.
