lol Goblin. The Oz Govt would leave you there to rot. You are right, they frown on public drinking just as they frown on Westerners getting around shirtless. Yet I saw sheiks in their whiter than white robes drunk as skunks and slurring away with pommy accents in the "Irish Bar" in our hotel.
But, hey, you could leave something lying around in public and it would still be there when you wanted it. I think the thought of amputations frightens them more than the death penalty.
