So cost to redevelop the mine was costed at US$6Billion in 2016. That cost will have most likely risen since then due to inflation etc.
8 years to mine production from when they start the pre-feasability study. Mine could be up an running by 2032 if BOC can move the project forward in a timely manner.
PNG Gov still holding on to their 36.4 % of the project is another issue. My thoughts are that they will keep it, even though they promised to pass it on to the landowners of Bougainville. The PNG Government know that Panguna will be a massive cash cow for them eventually...
