You must be kidding right, I'm sure you are of it.
What I am about to write is for the grown ups who have a more serious view for investing.
It really depends on where you stand personally regarding BHP or any other investment fot that matter.
In other words, when do you need the money for whatever.
I tend to use 2 different accounts for dealing with shares.
One is for long term; where I tend to be more of a fundamentalist and identify companies that have a strong sustaniable business and with reasonable prospects of continuing to generate a great cash flow.
Market timing is not as important here.
The other is to play. I may look for weakness in a stock I already hold in my longterm portfolio, but I tend to buy and sell it quickly.
How you balance the two is very subjective.
