I agree, and labour costs will not stay high. If commodity demand stays high, then skilled personnel will gradually come on tap, as traineeships created by that demand graduate as skilled workers. If we're at the beginning of a 20 year supercycle then you could do a lot worse than to have skills in the mining industry.
