I think your fears of the recent low volume in AEX are in fact a positive.

If you look at the recent correction period and the following consolidation period on the chart below two things are apparent.

During the correction, the volume decreased as the price fell - a good thing. Had the volume increased dramatically during the correction I would be extremely concerned as this would indicate smart money was bailing big time. This did not happen.

As you state during the current consolidation period the trading volumes are very low - again a good thing.

This indicates that most holders are content to stay put until the drill analysis is complete, and perhaps only some impatient short term traders moving their money to other trades.
