I admire you for having such an open mind and willingness to listen to others who have experience on their side. You clearly have a good head on your shoulders and a good future ahead of you.
I can't give you any advice in your chosen field. My only advice is to do something that you are passionate about.
As i have aged, the two well worn sayings ring very very true: * If you find a job you love, you will never work a day of your life * It is not what you know, it is who you know.
So, although i can't help you with the specifics, all i will say is choose something you love and can see yourself doing for the rest of you life AND don't be shy to make as many friends as possible whilst at uni and keep in touch with them. Take the time to drop them all a not from time to time because you just never know in what circumstance you will come across them again.
And if you have a passion for travel, get it out of your system while you can. It will be one of the greatest things you will ever do in your life and it will make you a better person.
