My "GUESS" would be time available.
I recon it would be better to commit to Welchau
as it is "the big one"
and the Welchau drilling needs to be completed within a limited time frame (i.e winter)
including any delays/sidetracks etc etc...
What makes welchau different is, we know gas is there, we just have to drill in the right spot., page-14
