Boil for days - is that correct? If yes, I think the best option is to use a pressure cooker - 15psi of pressure equates to a 121 degree C boiling point. If you don't have the p/cooker, and can afford to experiment with some seeds, then I believe the bicarb trick will most certainly be worth a shot, and most likely will be successful to boot.
