"So yeah..., (current-technology) silicone cookware, fudge you!"

I don't eat cakes and things so it doesn't bother me.

One thing though, silicone cookware is FANTASTIC for making moulds for sculpting or casting --- I love it. And those little non stick metal pie trays - wow.

What modern things I have given up is frypans - we have just gone to all spun steel - old fashioned carbon steel.

It took two goes to find the right 'one' , but when we did, we went back to the shop and bought two more from the same brand and batch.

Would you believe almost non stick from the first use and definitely non stick after about 2 weeks - wonderful things - forever, almost indestructible, cook like a dream ( that's why you see them lined up in French kitchens), look great in a country kitchen and - would you believe, under $30 each - how silly is that?
Still looking for a very big one for a very large omelette pan - my partner is very well known for these giant omelette's that feed 6 or 8 - so the pan has to be giant - spotted one a while back, but it might not be the right brand.
    The search goes on.

    Have a great day all

    Pinto.
