Whilst it's 'legal', it is also unconscionable and immoral.
Sadly I imagine the great majority of politicians are not savvy with their own money, nor investors or even less traders.
Otherwise I'd find out who the one with hands on experience of what we are up against IS, and badger him / her mercilessly until they hitch their wagon to over-throwing the practice.
