"Co-op has sights set on plantations across north
Mr Wilson said the Sandalwood Growers Co-op had the support of more than 600 growers and landholders across the north, where Quintis has more than 12,000 hectares of plantations.

He said he anticipated when growers from the 2004 and 2005 plantations met on March 28 to vote on their future management, they would also appoint the co-op to take charge.

"Our intention is to take control of all of the Quintis managed investment projects," he said.

"We will systematically continue to approach the growers in chronological order according to the age of the plantations, and a lot of the younger ones are based in the Northern Territory and Queensland.

"We're already being approached by both high network and institutional investors to join us, as well as a large number of Quintis staff, so we certainly will be moving into the NT and Queensland in the not too distant future."

Mr Wilson said the co-op already had Chinese customers lined up to pay better prices for the sandalwood than Quintis had been able to deliver after the last harvest.

He said the group also had potential clients in India, USA and Europe."

I presume this still leaves shareholders up ...t creek without a sandalwood twig to rub together?..

Would love to be assured otherwise

    Curiouser and curiouser
