I haven't read the AFR yet today, but an online journal reports 'the AFR has noted market chatter about whether it would be worthwhile to break up the company, which houses insurance, coal, and industrial divisions alongside its massive retail business.'
What the AFR calls 'market chatter' about a WES breakup surfaces on a regular basis, and has periodically since at least the Chaney era! It has always been rejected while WES wastes time 'justifying' its conglomerate model.
