gold vs usd

    Why is the American $ dollar still so strong ?? The country is stuffed and will take years to recover.
    Also why no flight to gold ,and hence a corresponding jump in the Gold price
    I know this hasnt happened as I have LGL ...LOL LOL cry sniffle
    Any thoughts
