the council can be a pain with planning permits etc but there are plenty of lovely streets, have you seen any of the streets off Bendigo Street for example, near the river? have you seen the houses in Richmond Hill which are multimillion dollar properties.
As for the Block, if people pay a million they are nuts, there are much better houses available for the same price where corners have not been cut to win a reality TV show. Those streets are middling but not a great location next to Richmond Sq shopping centre.
have you seen the local market which runs every Saturday morning off Bridge Rd? lack of community spirit? really, do you live there and do you know this for a fact?
I live in Richmond and love it.
It's a mixed bag of rich and poor, working class cottages and modern developments and housing commissions but for me that's better than a whitebread suburb with no diversity....boring!
