Oh bossdog, you are so naive. Let Qantas tell you all it can in the media. Why don't you talk to an employee. That is what I have done. The story is a lot different than what you hear in the media. I guess you believe that unions are after a $200,000 pay rise, just like another poster thought? I guess you believe in Santa Clause because someone told you so that appears to be in a position of authority. Time to scratch the surface, as it appears that you are a follower, not a boss.
I can tell you now, the employees that I have spoken to are well aware of the current climate. Their union has asked for 2.5%, which is very conservative compared to the 71% rise the CEO is getting and the 62% rise the rest of the executive are getting. You want reality, how about you start addressing the top, then you might get some cooperation from the unions. It is irresponsible what the management just went and did.
Just remember, the employees have more to lose than the millionaire management. If you don't understand that, then you must be part of the delusional management of the world, ie Bluescoe and their packages, IMO, are way over the top and just greedy.
