Yeah CJ, that's right.
Did you see the article in the Weekend Australian re purchasing detection devices for incoming rpgs. $300mil for that. There was a short mention at the end about systems to destroy incoming rockets where it said the systems were not yet reliable or proven. True.
However, I'd think a bit of that $300mil for Metal Storm would go a very long way to sorting out the problems with the system and developing it to where the anti-rpg system was reliable.
Great to know that our soldiers will soon be able to say "Watch out guys, there's a rocket about to hit in a few seconds". Splat!
Why can't the DOD (or government) put a bit of effort into helping get MST's anti-rpg system working reliably. Then it might be "Rocket coming in guys," Boom. "Hey, Got that one!". Sure, it will take some effort and money. Yes, it may possibly not work, but with these kinds things, usually if you persevere and experiment it will. MST is some way along the road to getting it to work. You have to try.
What worth are they putting on our soldiers lives that they are not willing to make the effort and put the funds in to develop a PROTECTION system rather than just a warning system!
Makes me frustrated and a little bit angry sometimes!
Yeah CJ, that's right. Did you see the article in the Weekend...
