Meant to add that VLA's office said cheques were sent to Australia Post for mailing on Thursday evening, presumably without the extra 50c stamp on each to ensure normal delivery times. So we will get our cheques up to two days later than 'normal' - whatever Aust Post's new definition of 'normal' means.
Refunds were by cheque, not electronic transfer, supposedly because VLA don't have details of every holder's bank account. I think they should have returned the cash electronically to those accounts they did know, but of course, holding cash without interest for another week adds to the $47 mill cash holdings ....very important to have enough cash in the bank for the next five years' expenses!
