What if the US gets its way and methodically takes over control of nation after nation who have resources they want? Opposition to the US will go underground and international. Resistance will be no longer just the muslims, but many oppressed peoples forced to live under self-serving puppet regimes. The colonial masters will have to be vicious in their repression of resistance.
Large parts of the world could be unstable and unsafe, especially for westerners. Terrorism would be widespread. Water supplies would have to be constantly guarded. Mass casualties would suffered and unavoidable. Hatred between the haves and have nots would create ghettoes of privilege. The US would be weakened economically by constant policing and economies would be trashed despite the resources being under their control.
The whole world could become like Israel is today - hell on earth, a mixture of fear and guilt.
