re: litigation with cba I think the CBA is mad to throw money at lawyers. This is going to take a long long time to conclude, and for sake of $17M (peanuts to CBA) I think this may be a case of them trying to cover their own incompetence in allowing a branch manager to steal so much money.

I am sure they have considered all the options, hope they were not only listenning to lawyers here, as the extra press is not going to be to their advantage IMO. Most people would have forgotten about this allready.

Are banks insured for this sort thing, I always assumed they were ?
