Hopefully it has nothing to do with the mining review which from past reports suggests that the negotiations between the companies & the govt is not due to commence until mid-July.
It is more than likely some analysts warning their clients of the bad 'profits' June quarter that we've just had due to Dikulushi underground being out of action - I fully expect profits to halve from the $21.4mil earned in Q1 to less than $12 million in Q2 but with the commissioning of the EAF's at Kinsevere by the end of June, revenue from that operation should double from the same production level and profits there should treble from the current quarter Q3.
Hopefully my prognosis is correct but you never know what may have hapened in the DRC overnight or at one of our sites but nothing on the newswires.
Only other possibility is a large placement pending but hopefully not.
Such a drop probably does need a reassuring announcement from the company but it's too early to get even a production report for Q2.
As long as BT is OK then we'll be OK.
