17 September 2010 Cougar Energy receives further Environmental Evaluation Notices from the Queensland Government Cougar Energy Limited

(ASX: CXY) advises that as part of the on-going program of environmental audit at its flagship Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) project in Kingaroy, Queensland, the Company has received two further environmental evaluation notices from the Queensland Government?s Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM). This follows extensive discussions and briefings between the Company?s senior management and DERM over the last two weeks. The notices include the scope of works described in the Company?s announcement to the ASX on 6 September, and include:
? provision of data and analysis of wells P1 and P4 to be delivered to DERM by 15 October 2010, and
? installation of additional monitoring bores and provision of data and analysis from the groundwater monitoring network to be delivered to DERM until 17 November 2010.
The Company is currently reviewing the requirements from DERM for further works and will provide information to the market shortly. DERM issued the new environmental evaluation notices yesterday to the Company after the close of ASX trading. This is after the Queensland Government Minister Kate Jones had made statements in the Queensland Parliament in relation to the further works earlier during that day. Cougar Energy continues to work closely with DERM. The Company is committed to finalising this environmental audit process to the satisfaction of the Queensland Government and DERM to enable a positive government determination to be made for the re-commencement of operations at Kingaroy.

Here in the ann Cougar is obviously highlighting the mistreatment and management of this issue by Ms Jones and other ministers involved. I dont own any Cougar shares yet but it still makes me sick to my stomach how these young inexperienced novices continue to shoot off their mouths before the company is even informed of any new requirements!
