I don't subscribe to the theory that this is being capped half as much as this thread thinks either.
On Mon, Tue and Wed last week, just under 80% of the volume went through either Commsec, eTrade or Westpac. So 8 out of 10 trades that you saw on your course of sales screen were through one of these brokers, which are basically retail. This is probably the case today as well.
From the data I have, shares are just moving round and round and round. If CNP is being capped so as someone can accumulate, I am seeing little evidence of this taking place in the numbers.
I'm not saying that capping is present from time to time, I just think we are mistaking day-traders (retail and insto) for people wanting to keep the price down.
