Regarding widespread repossessions

In 89/90s our last big housing drop the banks allowed lots of people to stay in their homes if they had good financial records.

The banks were in the situation that if they repossessed homes they could not sell them and recover all that they were owed so it was deemed to be better to let the good ones stay under various arrangements

This arrangement included some small businesses as well

It was not in anyone's interest to force repossessions when no good would come of it
