Yes bushfires are forces of nature. The fires in the Latrobe Valley & kilmore were deliberately lit, when this is done, it is murder no doubt about it, you would react this way yourself if somebody shot one of your family or friends, or torched your house with somebody in it.
I agree there must be more regulations regarding building in bush areas,but that will not stop these pyromaniacs if they cant hurt anybody, they will start torching houses. The answers above are the only way to go.
In the Latrobe Valley, we had A MOTHER & HER SON late last year appear before court for lighting numerous FIRES and what happened when they appeared in court a smack across the wrists, what a joke! they should have been chipped.
The Boolara fires ten days ago up here were deliberately lit, these bastards or bastard lit 2 fires for a start not satified with the CFA putting them outthey then ignited the big one, dont be surprised if you see someone charged with this one very soon.
I have had very good news yesterday with one of my mates accounted for, but lost his house, today I got more good news another mate his wife and children were accounted for. Also bad news, a old work mate & his son have perished my wife works at ABC learning and 2 of her work mates have not been in contact with work they live where most of these tradgedies have occured.
The reason I mentioned Concrete Water Tanks, my mate rang me today and told me, 1 of his workmates was about 1 hour from home and rang another mate and asked him to go up to his house(he took a mate with him) and turn the Sprinkler System on which they did, but were trapped by the fire, all they could do was jump in the concrete water tank, when they exited the tank, the house and the car was destroyed. Talk about LUCKY.
If they are put in prison they must be made to do it hard its not a holiday camp, no TV, ANY LUXURIES WHATSOEVER AND DEFINATELY NO SMOKES AND MATCHES.
Most people up here have been affected in some way .
