In February 2025, I sold about 30% of my SMSF portfolio which is now sitting in the bank earning not very much. So what to do with this cash? My sense is that the worst of the volatility is over but that the global economic nonsense initiated by the US may see slowing growth in the medium term and no short term recovery to the previous highs, recognising that they were artificially high and not sustainable. I also see people selling gold which I do not understand given that volatility may be over but considerable uncertainty remains.
Given that my investments are in ETFs on the ASX I am thinking of the following:
Putting the funds, at least in the short term into AAA. This gives about the same return as good Term Deposits but makes funds available.
Trying to find some quality ETS that seem to have been oversold; MOAT, IAA, MGOC?
Buying some more gold ETFs
Thinking about RMBS
For clarity, I am in retirement phase.
I am interested to hear what others are doing

im not sure whats funnier - the fact your asking for advice on hotcopper or the fact you might use that advice - at least now i can see why its in the humour forum - I know a guy that could help take it off your hands if your really stuck
