Yeah good point. This from a news report from the accident.
"Tesla, which said the driver was ultimately responsible for the vehicle’s action even when in autopilot mode, said both the driver and the car failed to notice the tractor trailer “against a brightly lit sky” and the brakes failed to kick in."
The point is.
The accident would have happened anyway, self driven or not.
The brightly lit sky made it impossible for the driver to see.
When these self drive cars are involved in accidents nearly always the other vehicle and driver is at fault.
Self driven cars are the future of motoring. They will prevent more accidents than they cause by FAR.
