BHP is well know for walking away from monster resources just prior to finding the loot, Oyu Tolgoi in mongolia also BTRs giant copper resource Kitumba was another recent BHP walk away.
Exploration is tough even for the biggest and best like BHP with unlimited exploration budgets.
