your correct or the copy and paste is correct in the detection of ischemic stroke is difficult with the basic CT. The adjunct to “seeing” the ischemic stroke in CT is the common use of a radio opaque isotope. This is known as a CT Angiography, this allows clinicians to observe blockages in the vascular beds in the tissue. Granted the larger vessels are more easily seen, but the 3D algorithm provide a pretty clear picture of obstruction. I should have included that in my explanation, apologies. Once again if there is no CT to access then early diagnosis is not possible further delaying treatment which increases morbidity/mortality.
