we have removable flyscreens on the windows we normally leave open and a door mat to hide the door keys under. It seems to be a neccessary high level of security for all our neighbours so it should be okay for us as well even though it is a bit of a hassle.
We used to leave the keys in a shoe outside the front door but our new young pup now drags the shoe over to any visitors and we couldn't take the risk someone finding the keys inside it.
