Etrade and Westpac and comsuc have all been useless today. Even when you ring they are all engaadeged or have to wait in a que. The real problem is the Australians dont let competion come to Oz in the form of Banks. Only 4 banks in Oz and all are useless, Us share traders or investors are not allowed to sue them for losses incurred due to the service they dont give either. So there is no incentive for the banks to produce a decent system of share trading that can handle days like this.
Imagine if there was a proper sell off, Its as if the banks say stuff the customers, cut them off and get themselves out first. It is a disgrace and someone should fix the problem. I doubt they will unless quality competion is allowed.
I managed to buy a few shares while they were low but missed the best prices. Best to have accounts with all of the banks and money spread with all, so if one goes down one can trade with another. imo
