Google tells me Kelowna is six hours and 42 minutes drive from Seattle, and in 2021 Statistics Canada wrote that with a population of 222,162, it was the fastest growing Census Metropolitan Area in Canada.

One of the companies, Jupiter Avionics, may be in competition with big cousin AEM or it may be in AEM sights as a takeover opportunity.
