Sorry to go on about this to the converted but I feel really strongly that stops are important.

If you have a trading plan it doesn't matter what anyone on a forum says because your sell or buy decisions are already made.

Super funds are too big to be able to use stops so most small investors have the advantage over them.

Rupert Murdoch lost so much in the 1987 fall that he told his advisors he wanted stop losses on his share investments. He totally liquidated all his shares early 2008.

This is not the last fall the asx or individual blue chip companies will suffer. TLS is still less than half the price it was 10 years ago. I would have thought that working out stop losses would have been the first to learn from this experience.
