That's not out of the same motivations that you guys avoid your civic responsibilities. Jesus avoided politics because 1) His kingdom is 'not of the world' and 2) To take up such a position would be to deny the Father's will, and the one single point about Jesus was his submission to the will of the Father.
That's not to say that he has no role in government:
"For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders."
And where does that leave the 144,000 JW rulers over the rest of humanity..in due course?
