    Mr Gordon
Could just as well be a description of many religions. Yes, JWs are famous for their non-political involvement. Pray tell, how many prayers it takes to build our road networks, and sewer works, and hospital systems etc. Very commendable that you do not vote and take no part in politics. However contemptible party politics is it is by far the most dominant force for gathering the collective effort and building infrastructure. I have nothing to do with politics, I hate the bastards, but I vote because that is a hard won privilege and see it for what it is. I hope your non-involvement extends to pensions and tax breaks for the church and social security.

Politics is an essential human construct and as such is not at fault it's the corruption of the individual within the party systems. Religion as such is not to blame for the misguidance leading to global misery and ignorance. It's the inability of people to investigate truth for themselves. It's the very same failing that brings both groups down. We have a grand weakness to follow, no matter how stupid or utterly impossible an ideology or belief system is. I'm sure you know exactly what I mean, wink, wink.

Now I know both groups raise their shrill tiny voices demanding a separation of church and state. Some power is better than none at all. But at some stage, well into the future, a far less corrupted political system and religion shorn of its dogma and ludicrous contentions must move closer together.

If politics had not been developed we would still be living in caves and Mr Russell would not have been able to develop his flights of fancy.
