My 'guess' would be the majority of the current cost is the gennex unit. As far as I can see the other components are standard fittings you'd find in any electrical and plumbing related device. There are some smarts to connect to the internet and I'd guess also standard and cheap. The yearly service cost would most likely remain, along with the requirement to replace filters. As Gas, water and air are inputs they need to be free from contaminents.
What are you willing to pay for a Bluegen in your house? $10K? I think you'd still say too much. But at $5K most probably... yes please.
