Gas peakers set the wholesale and retail price for electricity on the East Coast.
Unfortunately despite Australia being a major exporter of gas, it is cheaper in Japan and China than Australia.
A domestic reservation of 15-20% of extracted gas to be sold locally would bring down electricity and gas prices for Australians and Australian business.
