Super was attractive as it was when first introduced by the Hawke/Keating govt. In fact up tell then only the privileged had super!
In any event given the concessional conditions that apply to superannuation together with no tax clauses within funds and no tax on drawings on retirement that still makes it a very attractive proposition. Some say even that is too attractive! The latter will still receive their tax free dividends but dont receive back the pre tax paid on profits by the company they invested in.
Naturally some impacted wont be too happy because as applies to anything there are those who never want to give up anything regardless the justification. Thats why they screamed blue murder when the coalition capped super benefits last year.
