I reckon that they have more skin in the game than most - ie their reputations and integrity.
Even in this day and age, for a lot of people, especially the truly successful ones, this counts for a lot more than dollars.
We've been dealing with slimeballs who are so degenerate that it becomes difficult to comprehend that anyone might act with integrity or "do the right thing" without an ulterior motive.
