The Fund is estimated to get 2-4 new antibiotics during the next 10 years. PBT2 deal would give them over 30 in 2 years as PBT2 helps the old antibiotics to regain their effect to kill resistant bacteria. So PBT2 is not dead, the world needs it to solve antibiotic-resistant infections and save millions of lives.

But my hypothesis may be wrong. ATH has for sure other options: several of the big pharma companies. The Fund is not the only one interested in PBT2. However, if these negotiations with the fund are now going on they are perhaps the most complex pharma companies have ever had, so many companies are manufacturing and selling different antibiotics and the PBT2 deal would influence on their business. There will be gainers and losers with this possible deal but perhaps more losers if a single or just a few companies will get PBT2. PBT2 will disrupt the antibiotic market almost totally.
